Alpine Black Swallowtail Summer Form

A magnificent Alpine Black Swallowtail butterfly in a handmade wooden frame mounted on high-quality acid-free conservation board. The Latin and common names are printed underneath the specimen. This is the larger form of the spring form Papilio maackii.

The Alpine Black Swallowtail belongs to the Papilionidae family of butterflies. A stunning metallic blue and green Swallowtail butterfly. Much larger than the spring form we also sell, it's wingspan reaches 12 cm to 14 cm (4.7 inches to 5.5 inches).
